Trading Information:

What is the difference between a limit order and a market order?

A limit order sets a specific price (Limit Price) that is the highest a buyer will pay, or the lowest a seller will sell. The buyer will accept a lower price than the Limit Price, and the seller will accept a higher price. For the buyer the order will not be executed at a higher price than the Limit Price, and for the seller the order will not be executed at a lower price. On the other hand a market order is an order to buy or sell a security at the next available price. This means that the price available to you at the time you execute the order is not the guaranteed price that you will receive for your purchase or sale of the particular security.

How long does it take to execute a transaction?

One minute after you make your market order trade Sorrento Pacific Financial, LLC begins to make the transaction. The time it takes to fill the trade depends on the volatility and quantity of the security being traded. It could take as long as one hour to complete the transaction. The best method to avoid fluctuations in price may be to place a limit order trade.

How will I know that my transaction has been completed?

You can view your trade execution online, often within minutes of placing your trade. In addition, a confirmation in writing will be mailed to your primary address.

Who should I call if I have any questions?

You can call Sorrento Pacific Financial, LLC's discount brokerage services at (888) 805-5585.

Besides passwords what other protection is offered?

Sorrento Pacific Financial, LLC offers Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) which performs three critical safety functions. Second, SSL creates a secure communications channel by encrypting all packets in transit between the user's SSL-capable Web browser and the SSL-capable server. Finally, SSL creates a cryptographic checksum to ensure data integrity. The checksum provides a count of the number of bytes in a document. Therefore, if a message is not received in its entirety, it's rejected and another copy is sent.
